
Spanish conductor Andrés Ramos Navarro is set to embark on his tenth season as Music Director of the Salamanca Youth Symphony Orchestra. He will continue to conduct recording sessions for Film and Media, and continue his dedication to helping young conductors develop their career, teaching conducting in Madrid and Valencia.
With over 20 years of professional conducting experience, Ramos Navarro has guest conducted numerous german orchestras, including MDR Sinfonieorchester, Westsächsische Symphonieorchester, Jena Philharmonie, Leipzig Musikalische Komedie Orchester, Neue Elbland Philharmonie and Staatsorchester Aue. He has also worked with the Leipziger Vokalensemble and the Gewandhauschor.
His conducting experience in Spain includes concerts with the Valencia Symphony Orchestra, the Vallés Symphony Orchestra and recordings with the Orchestra of the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona.
He has conducted numerous original soundtracks for movies, including the Goya nominated sountrack for La Novia by S. Umebayashi with the Liceu Opera Orchestra.
He enjoys teaching, and has taught conducting at Berklee Valencia, and Praxis Academia in Madrid. Andrés obtained his conducting degree at the Felix Mendelssohn Musikhochschule in Leipzig.
